About the Coach ....

Bob Bennett, served as head coach of Fresno State University Bulldogs from 1970 (he was FSU's interim coach in 1967) until 2002.  Bennett led his Fresno State teams to extraordinary success -winning or sharing 17 conference titles, averaging over 40 wins per season while amassing 1,302 wins placing him 7th overall for NCAA Division I coaches, and making two trips to the College World Series. For his distinguished achievements, Bennett had been honored several times, including being named Conference Coach of the Year 12 times, NCAA Coach of the Year in 1988 and recipient of the Lefty Gomez Award in 2001. A member of the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Bennett is widely renowned as one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the history of the game.
